However, off-the-shelf behaviour or safeguarding applications, primarily designed for mainstream settings, often fall short; either due to high costs, cumbersome interfaces, or an inability to accommodate the intricate data collection requirements, particularly for such things as physical interventions.
Driven by the unique nature of the pupils under their care, special schools often naturally develop distinct language and operational protocols that reflect their individual setting which can be difficult for standard software solutions to replicate. Consequently, special schools often resort to managing a complex amalgamation of spreadsheets, paper-based records, and partial software solutions.
Say goodbye to inadequate, generic applications, and embrace a system designed to cater to the unique demands of special education settings. Simplify your data collection, monitor interventions, and foster an environment where every student receives the individualised support they truly need – at a cost you will find surprisingly affordable!
Lexden Springs is a special school having both day and residential pupils. The school caters for pupils with special educational needs, specifically severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder. As well as providing bespoke systems for logging pupil accidents and incidents in school, we have also created custom logs for the residential staff to record pupil activities morning and evening. We have recently added a custom nighttime log for night shift staff to record their hourly checks and observations.
IRIS Adapt’s refined access control allows both teaching staff and residential staff access to all relevant information regarding only the children in their care. Residential staff can be alerted to incidents which may happen in school and have access to all the details. Similarly, school staff can review the AM and PM logs for their pupil before the school day begins. The result is seamless and effective communication between all staff, school and residential.
